Best outfits to get guys' hopes up at gokon parties

A goo poll reveals that guys are more comfortable with girls in sleeveless tops and denim miniskirts
gokon outfitsUnclear whether gokon parties ever happen in front of temple complexes, but this woman is dressed for success.
The gokon (合コン) is the quintessential dating experience of modern Japan. The most common type is typified by a group of men sitting and chatting with an equal number of women at an izakaya. All the guys usually drift toward the most attractive female, so there's always tension. But if all goes well, phone numbers are exchanged and future coupling occurs.
The stereotype these days, however, is that gokon are best for making friends and not actually meeting possible spouses. Maybe this is because guys are too intimidated by the girls' wardrobes to push into deeper territory.
A poll by goo asked men which clothing items made them feel like they had a chance at winning a gokon girl at the end of the night. The number one answer was a sleeveless top or dress. Number two was a denim miniskirt, while number three was hot pants.
If there is anything that binds these choices together, it's the display of skin. Japanese men are often said to want girlfriends who don't show much skin, but clearly they like the potential girlfriend to show a bit. The website also thinks that denim means "proactive in romance," which helps reduce the mental barriers toward budding love.
This goo chart will help women prepare for their next gokon: open the gate to relationships with fishnet tights and scoop-neck blouses or create extra protection from drunken advances with a turtleneck sweater and long pants.
